Rolf Ekroth x Galeries Lafayette
Winner of the 2016 Galeries Lafayette endowment at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories in Hyères, Rolf Ekroth signed a unisex capsule collection for Galeries Lafayette.
For the third year in a row, the collaboration between Galeries Lafayette and the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fasion Accessories in Hyères has been extended by a carte blanche to one of the finalists for a capsule collection with the Galeries Lafayette brand. A mentoring and exercise program focused on production and dissemination issues at the department store level, this collaboration allows the young creator to create a capsule collection reflecting his creative world that had seduced the Galerie Lafayette jury of experts.
For the capsule collection designed in collaboration with Galeries Lafayette, Rolf has imagined a series of tiems which are faithful to his creative world: "I always find inspiration from historical events, especially sports documentaries," he explained. He extracts images and patterns from the screens that he mixes with technical materials to create contemporary silhouettes. His line of parkas, capes and sneakers is no exception to the rule and provides a result which combines sportswear with elegance, meeting with the trends of his time.
Every day, Galeries Lafayette works towards revealing the energy of creation. Our house bears with conviction the centennial commitment of its founders, convinced that the pulse of society is caught on the wrists of its artists.
We are happy to share this vocation with Villa Noailles, which reunites fashion professionals, the general public and young creators for this unique and multidisciplinary festival, as the incredible energy of creation of our time.
