Convinced that the diversity of views reveals the diversity of a place, Galeries Lafayette and the production company MISIA Films have initiated a series of original short films, shot exclusively at night, once the visitors have left and the doors of the department stores' have closed.
Free to wander through the empty spaces of the Galeries Lafayette, artists and directors are invited to take over the department stores', to draw on its resources, to explore its walls and to meet its talents in order to discover its places, colors, history, trades and people through creation. Each of the works offers a poetic and phantasmagorical vision that reveals the rich heritage and culture of the department stores': a historical monument, a theater of commerce and a cultural symbol that bears witness to trends and lifestyles over the centuries.
Between fictions and documentaries, these "cartes blanches", accompanied by original musical compositions, explore the spaces and the intimacy of the department stores' from a new angle. Each evening event offers the spectator a unique and surprising timeless experience, transporting them to places that are not accessible during the day.
