Laocoon plays upon the discrepancy between a 'model' as used for inspiration – here the Greek Myth – and its multifarious interpretations through the ages. As a wild extrapolation of a cast of the Orgone armchair, by designer Marc Newson, and piled up until it forms a broken ring with the help of sundry parts of the armchair, Laocoon takes over an ordinary commodity until it becomes abstract, and turns this commercial item into a metaphorical work.
