Meuris —who was very impressed by his visit to the Paris natural History Museum— confronts us in Lost in Objects (commissioned work) with empty display cases. In lieu of the absent exhibit, a description card explains what is missing, while a separate label explains why it is missing (loan, technical or economic reasons, lack of funds to keep a room open or ensure its security).
