Galerie des Galeries celebrates 25 years of ANDAM (National Association for the Development of the Fashion Arts) by inviting photographer Philippe Jarrigeon to stage the collections of 15 iconic ANDAM laureates. He imagines “Grand Magasin” (“Department Store”), a series of images inspired by Galeries Lafayette and photographed on-site.
Whether through still images, still lifes, fanciful portraits of customers and staff, or facetious group pictures, he subtly evokes the world of each of the designers AMI Alexandre Mattiussi, A.P.C. Jean Touitou, BLESS, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, Julien David, Giles Deacon, Christophe Lemaire, Véronique Leroy, Maison Martin Margiela, Gareth Pugh, Jeremy Scott, Anthony Vaccarello, Viktor & Rolf, Yazbukey et Yiqing Yin.
In this project, Philippe Jarrigeon creates an ideal department store and illustrates 25 years of fashion history in a festive and unique setting.
With Pierre Bergé as its Chairman, ANDAM was established in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, who has managed it since its inception. With its two annual prizes, ANDAM Fashion Award and First Collections Prize, ANDAM is now positioned as a major player in supporting fashion in France and Europe. This year, ANDAM laureates are Iris van Herpen and Coperni Femme.
