Studio GGSV
The GGSV studio was created in 2011 by Gaëlle Gabillet and Stéphane Villard, both graduates of the ENSCI / Les Ateliers (École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle). Designers by training, their projects attest to a certain pluridisciplinarity. From exhibition curating to research or object design, from scenography to interior architecture, their practice is multifaceted and frequently positions space as a place for design experimentation.
Presented at the Biennale Internationale Design de Saint-Etienne, the MUDAC in Lausanne and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, among others, their projects are characterised by the staging of a dreamlike universe constructed in volume that nevertheless addresses fundamental questions about the culture of the object. The objects deployed in spaces often created from scratch blur the boundaries between the real and the unreal, between the learned and the accessible. For the Galerie des Galeries, the GGSV studio invites visitors of all ages to come and experience a world rooted in the unreality of storytelling.
Winners of the VIA Carte Blanche in 2011, the Paris Shop & Design prize in 2014, and the City of Paris FAIRE Paris prize in 2018, they also won the 2016 call for projects for the interior redevelopment of the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris with H20 architects. The objects they create are edited in particular by Petite Friture (France), Gufram (Italy), Ege Carpets (Denmark)...
Between 2018 and 2019, they are residents of the Villa Medici - Académie de France in Rome - to conduct research on illusion and ecology through the medium of painting.
