Jimmy Robert
Born in 1975 in Guadeloupe. He lives and works in Bruxelles.
Through juxtaposed images drawn from his personal world and his performances, Jimmy Robert treats such notions as absence and alienation. He creates installations that point up his interest in space, surface and in the human body as an art material and, in this way, show the complexity and fragility of representation. Photography, performance and film allow the artist to create pieces that have an existence of their own, yet are able to combine with and play off one another.
