For this edition of SAVOIR FAIRE SAVOIR, Stéphanie D’heygere presents a remarkable work in which her reinterpretation of the Galeries Lafayette commercial archive gives rise to an intimate poetry.

With The Brush Clutch, Stéphanie D’heygere reinterprets a piece from the 1967 Galeries Lafayette catalog: a brush featuring a ring for hanging it and, on the back, a zippered pocket concealing a set of accessories (a pair of scissors, nail clippers, a shoehorn, a tailor’s tape measure, etc.).
Captivated by the ingenuity of this object, Stéphanie D’heygere chose to draw inspiration from it and create a more intimate and contemporary version.

The Brush Clutch embodies this dual-purpose concept in the form of a hairbrush with a mirror-finish surface, the back of which conceals a rigid pouch featuring a delicate clasp. This innovative object straddles the line between a beauty accessory and a fashion accessory: a hairbrush that discreetly stores the small items we use every day.

STEPHANIE D'HEYGERE

Stéphanie D’heygere graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2009 and began her career at several major fashion houses before joining Maison Margiela in 2011, where she worked as a jewelry designer until 2015.
She then continued her career at Dior as a senior jewelry designer before striking out on her own. Her expertise and unique vision led her to collaborate with the new generation of Parisian designers, including Y/Project, Vetements, Courrèges, and Jacquemus, as well as with iconic fashion houses such as Jean Paul Gaultier and the Italian brand Diesel. In January 2018, she launched her eponymous accessories brand, D’heygere, during Paris Fashion Week.
The brand quickly made a name for itself on the international scene thanks to its inventive and conceptual unisex designs, inspired by everyday objects. Through an approach that combines functionality with a playful reinterpretation, Stéphanie D’heygere has developed a unique creative language, which was recognized as early as 2018 with the ANDAM Accessories Award.

ATELIER GRIVE

At the heart of this Parisian design studio lies a friendship between three artists: Xavier Dehaye, a designer, Jimmy Dupont, a jeweler, and Robin Grugeaux, a jewelry designer. Driven by a shared passion for creating complex pieces, they decided to pool their talents to establish a hub of expertise for leading fashion houses. They design accessories and jewelry for luxury brands such as Schiaparelli, Loewe, and Caron, as well as pieces for major figures in the contemporary art world.
Together, drawing on their diverse yet complementary experiences, the three artisans create pieces that blend luxury, precision, and engineering. Their vision, always ahead of trends, positions them as pioneers of a generation of versatile artists who are resolutely focused on the future.
