Acclaimed as one of the best albums in the history of rock, Live at Leeds is the recording of the legendary concert the Who gave in the dining hall of a local university. From the sober cover of this record, which has long since disappeared from the bins of record shops, Jeremy Deller has borrowed the title and given it the look of a slogan. Deller had the title hand-printed by a Californian craftsman-founder in impressive black letters on a red background. In this way the artist lends the text an almost political power, that of a generational phenomenon.
