Born in 1961 in Massa-Carrara, Italy.
Paolo Ulian attended the courses in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara. At the end of 1990 he started working with Enzo Mari. He remained with him until 1992 and then returned to Tuscany to open his studio together with his brother Giuseppe. In the Milan furniture fair 2000 he took part in the Salone Satellite and won the first international Design Report Award launched by the German magazine Design Report. In the following years he won the Dedalus Design Award and collaborated with Droog Design and some Italian companies such as Fontana Arte, Luminara, Zani e Zani, BBB Bonacina, Sensi&C., Coop, Azzurra Ceramiche, Skitsch.
