Exclusively for Galeries Lafayette, David Lynch creates eleven unique shop windows on the theme "Machines, Astraction, Women" and an exceptional exhibition, I See Myself at Galerie des Galeries.
Throughout his career, Lynch, who graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, has actively continued painting and photographing. The exhibition will introduce some aspects of this protean work to the public. Settled in an environment designed by himelf, this show reflects his new passion: lithography. The use of this new medium echoes his discovery, in 2007, of an historical and magic place in Paris: the Idem Studio, in the Montparnasse area. Galerie des Galeries will feature a selection from his drawings, and a mini movie theatre will offer the viewer an opportunity to discover a selection from the famous filmmaker’s short movies and clips.
His lithographs just as his movies express a worring strangeness. The artist creates a very singular world of fantasy where desire can mix with disgust, beauty with ugliness, or fear with anxiety.
