Born in 1990 in Lausanne, where he lives and works.
Frédéric Gabioud has developed a monochrome pictorial praxis in which the paintings are mounted onto structures that are reminiscent of industrial production. The resulting ambiguity about the medium makes the monochrome works appear like objects. However, the artist dispels this false impression by leaving an outer rim of blank canvas visible around each piece, revealing it to be a painting. Frédéric Gabioud has shown his work at Geneva’s Espace Quark in 2015.
